The thing about traveling is that you can never know what to expect, no matter how hard you prepare. It’s freezing, it’s humid. It’s torrential raining or wind blasting you. I’ve been through it all and like to travel with beauty products that can withstand just about anything. These products are my absolute favorites and some of the best beauty products for traveling. Here’s why I love them:
Best Beauty Products For Traveling
Shop my favorite products below!
-Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Concealer by Maybelline
This concealer is my go-to. It’s light weight but has good coverage. It’s good for blemishes, uneven skin tones (like when I burn only my nose!), under eyes, eye primer….I’ve probably put this all over my face at some point.
-Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm
It’s hard to find a lip color that doesn’t dry your lips out and doesn’t flake. I don’t always wear lip color when I’m traveling, but when I do, I like something easy and hydrating with just enough lip color to be noticeable.
-Stay All Day Waterproof Brow Color by Stila
This is probably one of my favorite products ever. If you over plucked your eyebrows in the 90s/00s, then you know the struggle is REAL. My poor eyebrows never recovered but this Stila Stay All Day brow color gives them life. The brush tip lets you make hair-like strokes to make your eyebrows look natural. Plus, it’s waterproof so it won’t smear off if it rains. Powders and eyebrow pencils got nothing on this.
-Lash Sensational Luscious Waterproof Mascara by Maybelline
I have had so many people swear by different mascaras and for awhile, I tried them all. Now, I won’t even. This Maybelline mascara is the one I’ve been using for years now and I refuse to switch over. The coverage is great, the wand is great, and the waterproof-ness means my lashes are not moving. I cannot tell you the last time I used mascara that was NOT waterproof and before you have a panic attack, my lashes are still long and still intact.
-Tarte Double Duty Shape Tape Contour Concealer
Now, I’ve tried a LOT of concealers out there and most of them are rubbish (that’s probably the first time I’ve used the word rubbish but it just sounded fitting). If you’re like me and need an under eye concealer with a LOT of coverage, Shape Tape is the best product I’ve found so far. It dries fairly matte, doesn’t crease much and has great, buildable coverage. But unlike my mascara, I’d be open to trying some contenders here.
-Blush Trios by Anastasia
You want to keep things light when you’re traveling but if you love makeup, that can be hard to do. I love the blush trios from Anastasia because it’s compact with 3 different colors and I love each color.
-Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner by Stila
If I want to dress up my look, Stila wins for best waterproof eyeliner. I’ve tried quite a few of these as well, but so far, this is by far the best. It stays exactly where you put it. There’s no smudging once it dries and the felt-tip is really great for precision.
-All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray by Urban Decay
And once you put all these long-lasting, stay-all-day, waterproof products on, spritz them with this setting spray to make sure it lasts all night as well.
-Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes by Neutrogena
I love waterproof makeup because I know it’s not going anywhere but at the end of the day, I don’t want to ruin my face by scrubbing it too hard with chemicals to remove it. I prefer towelettes as opposed to cotton balls or pads and these wipes make it easy to remove waterproof makeup. They’re gentle, non-oily and effective.
-It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Product
If you have long hair or hair that tangles easily, or are going to a place like Aruba where it’s windy AF, you NEED to try this. It’s a 10 leave-in spray is a detangler with magic powers. It makes brushing through knots and tangles SO much easier and makes your hair feel so good.
-imPRESS Press-On Manicure
This is by far one of the best beauty products for traveling and one of my best kept secrets. Except that I tell literally EVERYONE who asks me about my nails (I get SO many compliments!). Enter the press-on manicure by imPRESS. They have trendy designs (that would probably cost a fortune if you did them in a salon) and actually last a decent amount of time.
I’ll apply them a day before a trip and they’ll last through quite a bit. I once wore them on a road trip through the west where we went hiking through rocks, climbed sand dunes, camped…and they lasted about 2 weeks!
